Back with a card!

Hi all :)
.
I've had a bit of a break recently, had a few things to sort out and wanted some quality time with the girls, but i have returned with a card and a matching box.
.

.
I figured it was high time i did some crafting, so i made Maddy a card,
.
.
then made a little box to go with it. I'm sure i can fit some choccy in it. :)
.

.
I used an Crafty Individuals inchy thingy, edged it with Vintage Photo distress ink and covered it with Crackle Accents. The glaze brought the distress ink colour out nicely.
.
.
I made an embellishment using my seal and wax....
.

.
I also used a paper doille for part of the card. I bought a pack of 75 assorted sizes from Poundland, they are great as they already have that delicate lace effect. So i coloured it with Broken China to break up the vintage browns.
.

.

.
So there you have it, one card and a mini matchbox.
.
Hope you like. :)
.
Ooh before i forget, i had some lovely news yesterday, Fabrizio, another male crafter (fantastic crafter and real nice guy) emailed me to say that my blog had been mentioned in issue 24 of "Lets Make Cards"! :) I was well chuffed as i've never been in a magazine for anything crafty before. Fabrizio was featured in the mag, and i think they mentioned a couple of other male crafters...including me!
.
So a big thank you to Fab for the info, i've yet to see the magazine, but i will get one for a momento to tell my grandkids about! :)

Congratulations on the magazine mention too, maybe there's hope for us male crafters yet (although I may have to raise my standards at this rate).

Maddy is sure lucky to have a man like you;)
Oh, I'm SO looking forward till june 9th - that's my last exam this year, and the following weekend is dedicated to nothing but crafting! (then she sighed and looked at her math books...)
But, not much crafting for me in a while, we're moving back home to northern Norway in the beginning of july, so I've got some packing to do.....but when I'm in place up there: Watch out for some serious work!

....hugs to Rotty ;)

Thank you everyone for your lovely comments, they are much appreciated. :)

Hi Kt, the inchie things are just pictures that are about an inch square that come in a sheet of paper. People use them to make inchies which are pieces of tiny artwork. Crackle Accents, or Crackle Glaze as it it sometimes known, is a clear medium that is applied too a surface, but which crackles when it dries. The size of the cracks depend on the thickness of the glaze applied.

Thank you for my award Sandra, i'll pop over and have a look :)

I just wanted to say how nice it is to see everyone here, it feels like i've ben away for ages, and it's great to see such familiar faces here. Trine i wish you all the best with your exams in June, looking forward to seeing you crafting again. I told Rotty said hi, he just nodded his head and grunted, but i swear he went red too lol!

Wow! 3 male crafters in one blog post!!! Hi Fab, Nigel and Daniel :) I'm going to have to start keeping spare beers in the blog fridge at this rate! :) Fabrizio, congrats on your mag feature, i read it last night on your blog, very cool interview may i say, looked like fun.

Take care everyone....i have to go and find some inkable veg! Getting harder each week.
